Not only did the EDS Atlantic Challenge provide the company with a dramatic entrance into the sailing world, but it also raised the general public's awareness of the company to unimaginable levels throughout the world: "It's very hard to get in to the US market place in particular. It was amazing. Interest through the website was coming from deepest Montana and Idaho. It was a huge spectacle over there."

"The closeness was also great. It's not like the Vendee [Globe Single-Handed circum-navigation of the globe] where the competitors say there goodbyes and are then reunited." Moultrie reflected, again repeating his love for the Open 60 class: ""We really liked the boats and their speed, power, and openness. It fits our brand and it's where we want to be."

This is good news for the sailing community in general with more and more money coming in to the industry through channels such as the America's Cup, lottery funding, and Volvo involvment to name but a few. Where exacltly the focus for EDS will be is anyone's guess, although at this point in time one thing's for sure, all signs are pointing towards the Open 60 class.
