Weather conditions proved unstable for the final day of the Portofino Rolex Trophy, organised by the Yacht Club Italiano and Rolex, devoted to Metre classes: J Class, 12 Meters IR, 8 Metre, 6 Metre is 5.50 SI.

During the morning squalls and strong winds to 25 knots with gusts to 30 has delayed the departure operations. The race committee decided not to start the smaller vessels, while the J Class and 12 Meters IR have left the dock around noon. The race got underway, but was then cancelled due to the constant wind shifts - the same fate for the second race of the day, so the Race Committee was forced to abandon racing.

After the four races held on Friday and Saturday the results are as follows:

Cambria has been awarded a very special trophy, raffled and delivered by Elizabeth Meyer, a cleat on the 1934 Endeavour, the J Class to which Meyer has been shipping for many years.

The prize giving was held this afternoon in the square of Portofino. During the award ceremony a special award was given to Elizabeth Meyer, for her efforts in reviving competition in the J Class.
