X-Yachts Solent Cup 2011

40 yachts already signed up for May's regatta

The X-Yachts Solent Cup 2011 will be held out of the Royal Southern Yacht Club, Hamble from Friday 6 – Sunday 8 May. The Solent Cup is an open event for all X-Yacht owners who wish to race hard, enjoy some easy going competition or who simply wish to spend a pleasant weekend in the company of fellow X-Yacht owners.

2011 will see a slight change of the Family Class to include a pursuit race and other family friendly activities, while the racing classes remain as windward-leeward style racing.

The Solent Cup is not just about time on the water, the X-Yachts team will be organising entertainment ashore too. The weekend will see the launch party for their new Owners' Association and the annual X-Yacht dinner which will include an after dinner speech from Yachtsman of the Year, Geoff Holt. All X-Yacht owners and their crews are invited to attend all of the weekend’s social events.

Already the pre-entry list features 40 entries vying to become the overall X-Yacht Solent Cup winner for 2011!
