Wichard introduce turning block alternative

MX line of shackles offer a static 2:1 purchase

Wichard have introduced their new MX line of shackles, designed to allow lines to run through them without the need for a block.

The MX shackles offer a lightweight, low-profile option to traditional blocks whenever a static 2:1 purchase or line re-direction is needed.

According to Wichard MX Shackles are strong, weather resistant and require no maintenance like traditional sailing blocks. Made from highly
polished stainless steel, most lines will slide smoothly along the contoured surface of the shackle head, creating a turning point or purchase wherever it’s attached. They can be used for various onboard applications and can be added to working lines without releasing the load. They work especially well for static high-load purchase systems, such as a main halyard purchase system, and also for spinnaker guy
twings/tweekers or jib sheet barberhaulers.

MX Shackles come in three sizes ranging from the MX-6 for 5/16” line, to the MX-10 for 9/16” line. They are manufactured from 17-4PH stainless steel for a superior strength to weight ratio and offer pin sizes ranging from 1/4” to 3/8”.
