Cosworth, the leading supplier of high performance technologies, is pleased to announce that is has formed a partnership to co-distribute and provide support for Tacktick wireless systems for the high performance sailing market. The relationship will enable Cosworth to provide complete performance systems that include its own Pi Research range of data systems along with wireless sensors and displays from Tacktick.

Cosworth’s Pi Garda, will be the first product to provide full two-way communication support for Tacktick sensors and displays. Originally developed to meet the exacting requirements of Olympic squads, the Pi Garda system records and analyzes everything the serious racer needs to know to sail faster.

The Pi Garda system is able to log crucial factors such as wind speed and direction to produce key performance measures such as Velocity Made Good (VMG) and polars that are 'must-haves' for any serious racer. Add in synchronised video capabilities and automatic tacking and gybing analysis, and you have a system that really is set to change the face of racing.

The new Pi Garda with Tacktick interface will enable racers to employ all of Tacktick’s popular solar powered wireless systems. In addition the interface to Tacktick displays will enable Pi Garda data to be available to the sailor in real time.

Simon Holloway, Marine Business Development Manager, Cosworth said: "The new Tacktick interface for the Pi Garda is a very exciting development, it allows simple integration to existing and new Tacktick installations and combines the power of Cosworth electronics performance analysis with the innovative wireless capabilities of Tacktick, all helping to make boats and sailors win races."
