New personal hovercraft to be launched at Schroders London Boat Show

To celebrate the product launch of three new Work Pod models at the Schroders London International Boat Show, manufacturers Reaction International Ltd will run a daily competition on their stand E3071 to win Hov Pod experience rides at locations throughout the UK.

The Hov Pod is a three-man leisure hovercraft capable of a top speed of 40 mph. Hov Pod should appeal not only to leisure customers who want an exciting alternative to RIBs or personal water craft, but also to boat owners who need a tender to reach their vessel or waterside property and overcome the restrictions imposed by low tide or strong currents. Hov Pod skims over mud, sand and strong currents, hovering on a cushion of air, described as like driving a magic carpet with attitude. Using handlebar steering, the pilot can quickly master 180° turns and 360° spins in no time at all. Use it like a sit-on skateboard to ride up beaches and riverbanks. Man and tide are no match for this go anywhere craft.

The new Work Pods have been designed in response to requests from commercial users who need to react quickly in flooding emergencies, or in areas of deep mud, quicksand, submerged coral, frozen lakes, reed beds or in swampy conditions. Interest has come from environmental agencies, fire brigades, police, and petrochemical industry and particularly from corporate event organisers who arrange activity days for jaded executives. Hov Pod is offered with optional trailer, is easy to tow to extend the range for exploration, to allow quick response – take it anywhere, launch from any beach; no need for a slipway.
