New Hamble-based catering company starts up. Book you sarnies for the Spring Series

Vanilla Gourmet Catering Limited, the brain child of Kate Asher and Helen Horn, was created to fill the gap left by Noonmark Yachtings’ The Gourmet Source.

Kate was catering manager for Noonmark Yachting for four years, and subsequently operations manager for Bols race yacht campaign. She is keen to provide the same quality and service to the charter industry, delivering innovative menus, which require minimal effort by the crew. Helen, a customer focussed retail Finance Director, has spent much of her life as a professional sailor, racing around the world.

Between them the girls have used their experience to design high energy racing lunches that are grinder friendly and easily stored and handled on board. For the Warsash Spring Series they are offering a hot bacon roll service pre-racing and lunch packs, delivered to the boat.

They are also planning to have a base in Cowes for Cowes week to provide the same reliable service for lunches and charter meals as from their permanent base in Swanwick Marina.

Menus start from £5 for a packed lunch or frozen home-made take home meal (ideal for passaging), to £35 for a full lobster buffet. They are very flexible and would be delighted to discuss any particular requirements you may have, or invite you to their offices for a tasting. They also provide a land-based corporate lunch service and are happy to cater for private functions, canape parties etc.
