Childerley On Fire

Another two races sees Childerley put another seven points on the fleet at the Etchells Worlds

Defending world champion, Stuart Childerley, has put in another impressive day off Auckland, extending his lead in the 98 boat fleet.

Posting a 1,9 Childerely has extended his lead over second placed Aussie, Mark Bradford, by seven points. Bradford scored a 11,5 and third placed John Bertrand climbed up from fifth with a 2,16 scoreline for the day.

In a 18-25 knot breeze, Childerley demonstrated again his composure in this highly competitive fleet, by extending his lead throughout race 4 to win by an impressive 250 metres from the second placed Bertrand.

The second race of the day saw a right sided shift just after the start. Childerely, sailing with Simon Russell and Roger Marino, had to work hard to round the first windward mark in 25th. This was again translated into a real counter, with Childerely working up to 9th by the finish.

Two races per day are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
