The third race of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club’s Twilight series was
held on Thursday 15 May and saw a westerly breeze of up to 8 knots.

The Race Management Team set the Committee Boat near Netley. A two lap race
was set which was shortened half-way through the second lap as The light
breeze faded.

Class 1 IRC saw the Mumm 30 Mioi skippered by Yoann Richomme take line
honours but victory on corrected time went to Mike Garvey’s X332 X-Parrot
with Andrew Percival’s Corby 33 Big Boys Toys II second and Peter Bromley’s
X-362 Xcitable in third place.

Class 2 IRC saw Roger Townsend’s Prism 25 Backchat first to finish, but
Steve Sault’s Sigma 33 Hooligan was first on corrected time with Backchat
second and John Cooper and Ian Townend’s Hunter 707 Tiger in third place.

Class 3 Club handicap, saw the rare occurrence of Richard Walker’s Micro 18
Urchin II taking line honours, and being the lowest-rated boat, also winning
on corrected time. Philip Williams Sonata Sequoia was second and Ian Barry’s
Evolution 22 Glass Onion took third place.

In the Multihull Class David McLeman’s Dragonfly 920 Zoum! was first to
finish and won on corrected time from Simon Forbes’ Dragonfly 800 Scooby III
with Julian Yates’ Firebird II third.
