Close but no cigar

As round two of the Raymarine Warsash Spring Series is cancelled

After the first race of the Raymarine Warsash Spring Series was cancelled last weekend due to the inclement weather, today's second race fared little better.

With blustery conditions forecast, the race committee tentatively sent out Blue Group, leaving White Group (Mumm 30, Laser SB3, 1720 and the Hunter 707s) to stand down due to the weather for the second weekend on the trot.

Out on the line blue group wallowed around for 45 minutes but with little sign of the gusty conditions abating the race committee finally at around 10.30am pulled the plug and sent everyone home.

This came as some relief for the local crews as it enabled them to get to a television in time for kick off of the Southampton v Portsmouth football match (Portsmouth won 1:0).
