At conclusion of the Royal Southampton YC's Spring Series

The Royal Southampton Yacht Club’s Spring series concluded with race 6 held today in sunny conditions and a south easterly breeze of up to 10 knots.

The Race Management Team set the Committee Boat, near the Admiralty Mooring Buoys. The wind direction allowed long beats and runs to be set. Class 1, saw Mike Garvey’s X-332 X Parrott take line honours and victory on corrected time by two and a half minutes from The Flying Fish, Kathy and Rupert Smalley’s Laser 28. In third place was Glass Onion Robert Clark’s Evolution 22. Overall in the series X Parrot won by one point from The Flying Fish with X332 Blue Moviez (Steve Flick) in third place beating Steve Sault’s Sigma 33 Hooligan on a tie break.

Class 3 saw Alan Baker’s Westerly GK 33 Alma take line honours and victory on corrected time by over a minute from Tigerfeet, Ian Townend and John Cooper’s Hunter 707, with third First 211 Loki (Simon Potter and Marion Meunier). Overall in the series Peter Sanders Dehler 41 Kraken won from Tigerfeet by 1 point from Alma.

In the Multihull Class, Ian Loffhagen’s Farrier 25C Sheik Yerbouti took line honours but victory on corrected time by over two minutes went to Brian Haynes Farrier 33 Carbon Tiger from Sheik Yerbouti with Simon Forbes’ Dragonfly 800 Scooby III third. Overall in the series George Burn’s Farrier F27 Smokey Bear won by five points from Sheik Yerbouti with Blue Minnell (Tim Wilson Dragonfly 800) third.
