Ancasta reports it has sold the historic Feadship
Bystander -the 108 ft (33m) luxury motor yacht originally built for Henry Ford II. The classically designed motor yacht was built in the mid 1960’s and used extensively by the Ford family.
A stable and seaworthy vessel with stunning lines, Bystander retains the air of a gentleman’s motor yacht.
Although comprehensively refitted, many of her original features remain in use today. In 1999 Bystander undertook a world circumnavigation as the mother ship to the classic J-Yacht Velsheda, visiting the Caribbean, Panama, Galapagos, Tahiti, New Zealand, and returning via the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean. More recently, Bystander was used daily during the 2007 America’s Cup where she supported Emirates Team New Zealand in Valencia.
