Swedish clothing manufacturer to sponsor boat at Match Cup Sweden

The all-Swedish brand for sailor clothes, Pelle P, has entered a three year agreement as boat and clothes sponsor for Match Cup Sweden. Pelle P is a well known and fresh sailing clothes brand, but with a genuine history in sail racing and design, and with a marine connection that suits well as a boat sponsor in Match Cup Sweden.

"It's a great opportunity to strengthen our brand in target groups strongly related to sea life, high quality and interest for design," says Martin Olsson, Sales and Marketing Manager at Pelle P.

"It is really nice to have agreed to a long term co-operation," says Jan Torstenson, Managing Director of Brandspot, organiser of Match Cup Sweden, in cooperation with GKSS.

The sponsoring agreement involves that Pelle P is profiled on one of the ten sail racing boats during the one week long fourth stage of the World Championship, Match Cup Sweden in Marstrand, over 30 June-6 July. 12 of the world's best Match racing sailors challenge for the trophy and points in the World Match Racing Tour and eight female world sailing stars races for the Women's trophy. In addition to boat sponsorship, all race officials and functionaries will be dressed up in the Pelle P marine clothes collection. The brand is also given exclusive rights to market and sell its clothes during the race week in Marstrand.

"This is our greatest effort ever to strengthen our brand and a new step in our long term marketing strategy to grow and become strong all over Sweden and abroad with our Swedish designed marine quality clothes for both sail racing and leisure," explains Martin Olsson.

Pelle P is a brand created by Pelle Petterson, Sweden's all time strongest and most successful name in sail design and racing, a pioneer in match racing and, among others, with two America's Cup challenges and several Olympic and World championship titles. Pelle P Yachting production AB is operated by the daughter Cecilia Petterson, who is managing director and designer, and Martin Olsson, in Billdal outside Gothenburg.

Match Cup Sweden is Sweden's largest sailing event, with world class sport, public entertainment and meeting spots for the business community. It is part of the World Match Racing Tour.
