The French America's Cup challenger Le Defi, who teamed up with Chinese businessman Wang Chaoyong to mount the China Team challenge for the 32nd America's Cup, are to auction their assets.

At the conclusion of the 32nd America's Cup this partnership arrangement was set to continue but the turmoil over the 33rd America's Cup and China Team's exclusion from this event has lead to a suspension of the partnership between Wang Chaoyong and Le Defi.

A.C China Team Holdings KH, the joint venture company set up between the two parties is now wholly owned by Wang Chaoyong and includes the boat that raced in America’s Cup, CHN 95 - which is not part of the sale.

The equipment that is for sale belongs to LeDefi and is not part of China Team’s current assets.

Among the key items included in the catalogue are two America’s Cup Class yachts used during the competition, the CHN79 and the CHN46. Additionally, a catamaran and two RIBs are to be sold.

The extensive list also includes an important amount of brand new crew gear from well established sailing brands. Other items include the awning designed with dragon motifs used to cover the base of the China Team at Port America’s Cup and a wide array of furniture, kitchen and office furniture and tools.

The items will be auctioned exclusively through www.goindustry.com, a global leader in online industrial asset auctions.

The China Team was the first syndicate to represent a Chinese yacht club in the history of the America’s Cup. Through the Qingdao International Yacht Club it was created by a group of Chinese entrepreneurs along with the French Le Defi syndicate. Among its aims is to promote the America’s Cup competition in China as well as the sport of sailing in China.
