The Polish Sopot Match Race Centre is getting ready for the Grade 1 Toyota Sopot Match Race event of next week. The entry list is highly promising filled with 11 young guns of the match racing world from 9 countries fighting for the victory.
This event has been growing from year to year, last year the Sopot Match Race organised a spectacular match race European championship sailed with the 6 Diamant 3000 30ft yachts won by the team of Peter Wibroe.
Beside Wibroe in the top positions we find Torwar Mirsky from Australia, the two top ranked Russians Eugeny Neugodnikov and Andrev Arbuzov, Ian Ainsle from the Sosholoza team and the Suisse Eric Monnin.
"It’s a great pleasure to sail against these top young world match race teams as we have been training hard this year and we are highly motivated," says Przemek Tarnacki. "We are also very pleased that we can count on the support from Toyota, our main sponsor."
The 12th place will be decided this weekend, the winner of the grade 3 qualifying event will get a place in the Toyota Sopot Match Race mid-July.
