More than 85 yachts are due to take to the Solent on Saturday for the Royal Southampton Yacht Club’s 30 mile doublehanded race to the Nab Tower, east of the Isle of Wight and back.
It is one of the Club’s most popular two-handed races and always attracts plenty of interest among fans of double handed racing.
It’s a committee boat start from off Hill Head in the central Solent and includes classes for IRC, Club and Multihulls, heading directly around the Nab or with additional marks, depending on conditions tomorrow.
The race is part of the Club’s McGuigan Wines two handed series of eight races which runs throughout the summer.
All competitors head back to the Ocean Village Clubhouse after racing for a glass or two of well earned wine, courtesy of the series sponsors, and where provisional results will be announced at around 1830.
Bottle prizes will be awarded to the first three places in each class and class winners will be invited to collect their annual trophy at the Prize Giving on Saturday, December 13.
