Alinghi sneak ahead

For the second day of racing in the HP Cup Reserve, the 10 Decision 35 crews benefited from perfect conditions - sunshine and a southwesterly wind of up to 10 knots in the early afternoon on Lake Geneva.
The race organisers took advantage of the conditions to hold racing, despite the presence of many boats on the water who were creating an ireegular chop not making it easy for the D35 helms.
In these circumstances it was once again Alinghi that was able to succeed putting a litte more distance over her competitors in the overall standings. Winner of one races and following this up with a second and two third places, the D35 of Ernesto Bertarelli rose from fourth place yesterday and into first position and winner of the HP Cup Reserve.
Guy de Picciotto's Too Zen was also one of the big winners this weekend. Winning three out of eight races the boat skippered by Stève Ravussin has demonstrated to be a serious competitor taking victory in today's final race.
At the end of this weekend of racing, the most majorchange in the overall leaderboard has been that of Foncia, now into second place. Among the top five in all the races, the boat helmed by Alain Gautier, has shown her true potential this weekend.
The D35s reconvene next weekend in Versoix for the Grand Prix Romandie.com.
