An update from K-Challenge

The America’s Cup is soon to come to a final judgment in the court case between Alinghi's and BMW Oracle Racing's yacht clubs, even if some further stages will still be necessary.

Whatever the final result will be, this decision can occur any time now, and will allow a date to be set for the next multi challengers America’s Cup, if it is to be a Deed or Gift America’s Cup or otherwise.

Meanwhile K-Challenge continues its preparation in order to be ahead of the game when the date for the next multi-challenger America’s Cup is known. The teams already operational on technical, sailing and logistics levels will be the ones be able to compete.

As announced in March 2008, the French team will now start a high level sailing project, in order to create the essential common experience between its sailing team members.

The basics of the team’s sailing programme have included Sebastien Col’s participation to the World Match Racing Tour (now 2nd of the overall ranking after the Danish Open), and to the international RC44 circuit (where Sebastien is the leader of the circuit after four events). Sebastien Col is particularly focused on the selection of his future crew members, but also on getting as much experience as possible on other highly technical boats, like the TP52 and GP42.

K-Challenge will introduce its 2009 season programme in mid-October.
