The latest from Mr Henri

Including the Phase range that alters breathability according to body temperature

Thursday January 8th 2009, Author: James Boyd, Location: United Kingdom
At the London Boat Show, starting tomorrow, Henri Lloyd are to unveil several new products including their DAME Award Winning TP2 Shadow 2G Jacket.

In the Henri Lloyd Ocean / Offshore sector, the Ocean Explorer Jacket features the new Optivision Hood System, exclusive to Henri Lloyd. The system gives excellent peripheral vision without the loss of protection to the face. Constructed from a three-Layer Gore-Tex Pro Shell fabric, the Gore-Tex membrane is bonded to the outer material and the inner lining, thus taking the need for a separate lining away and speeding up the drying time, reducing weight and increasing comfort for the wearer. They are available in both a men’s and women’s fit.

Following on from Henri Lloyd's original Shadow Range launched in 2005, the second generation Shadow Range is aimed at the sportsboat market. The TP2 Shadow 2G Jacket features the Optivision Hood System to aid windward or leeward peripheral vision. The 2.5 layer fabric combines a hydrophilic laminate with a microporous coating for breathability.

Henri Lloyd Phase Change range was born out of their involvement with BMW Oracle Racing in the America’s Cup. The crews Cup needed clothing that could adapt throughout the differing temperatures of a day’s racing and also the change to body temperature. Each product in the Phase Change Collection is designed to create a “Built-In Climate Control System” - technology that consists of temperature sensitive memory polymers. When the temperature falls, the polymers restrict the loss of heat and moisture to keep the wearer warm. As the temperature within the garment rises the polymers reconfigure to allow more heat and moisture to escape, cooling the wearer down. Products in the Henri Lloyd Phase Change Collection are the Atmosphere Jacket, Blaze Jacket, Vapour Jacket and Sensor T.

The Ben Ainslie Junior Range has been inspired by Ben’s sailing career through Optimists, Lasers and Finns and more recently the America’s Cup. Ben’s knowledge and sailing experience was fundamental in creating a Junior Range that has a unique design and carries the Ben Ainslie signature logo. The range consists of nine products including Spray Tops, Shore Jackets, Hiking Shorts and Accessories.

2009 sees the introduction of the brand new Octogrip Trainer from Henri Lloyd. The trainer’s upper is constructed using lightweight, non absorbing, fast draining mesh panels and feature an injection moulded TPU ‘exo’ skeleton and rear footplate for added stability. An additional TPU toe guard with drainage holes protects the front of the trainer from excessive wear from abrasive deck materials while still allowing water to drain out. The mesh panels allow drainage when on deck, but are fast drying when out of the water. The uppers have an anti-fungal finish and the non absorbent insole is also removable to greatly increase the drying time of the trainer.

This lightweight flexible trainer features the same sole tread pattern as found on the top of the range Ocean Extreme Boot together with an updated lightweight shock absorbing phylon midsole. A super sticky rubber compound, interconnecting water dispersal channels and razor cut siping combine to produce the ultimate sailing sports shoe.
