Goetz Custom Technologies, LLC has announced that it has successfully bought the assets of Eric Goetz Custom Sailboats Inc., from the state appointed receiver.
“In this transfer, we very much appreciate the gratifying personal loyalty of the employees and the unwavering support of industry partners through what has admittedly been a difficult transition for us”, said Eric Goetz, member of Goetz Custom Technologies, LLC. “Goetz Custom Technologies now has a very strong financial base and a new strategic plan for future growth that we are confident will serve us very well in the coming decades. This plan includes servicing Goetz Custom Sailboats’ previously built high performance, high- tech custom power and sailboats. In addition to building new custom boats we are adding and marketing a new line of high- tech semi-custom sailboats and powerboats” he continued.
The semi-custom high-tech sailboats are being designed by the world renowned German Frers of Argentina. In addition, Goetz has partnered with C. Raymond Hunt of Boston to design a new line of high-tech semi-custom luxury powerboats. All product lines will offer the consumer significant performance and fuel consumption advantages due to the dramatically lower hull weights that result from our carbon fiber construction technology. These two design partnerships coupled with Goetz high technology, lightweight construction capabilities will have instant appeal to a broad target audience of yachting enthusiasts around the world. In the meantime Goetz employees are back on the job and working diligently to complete two 82 ft. sailboats - one intended for luxury cruising and one for the racing circuit.
In addition to its core manufacturing business, Goetz Custom Technologies will add a brokerage and a charter division to increase service to customers as well as add a non-manufacturing profit center.
Goetz Custom Technologies is now in full operation in its 45,000 square foot state of the art manufacturing facility located in Bristol, RI. The facility opened in 2007 with industry leading carbon fiber construction capabilities and the promise of one of the world’s most precise robot CNC cutting machines. The company’s carbon fiber hull construction techniques maximize hull strength while minimizing hull weight, which provides very meaningful benefits to individuals who are interested in either custom or semi-custom boats. In addition, the company provides boat building support services including full refit capabilities of alterations, painting, custom metal work and canvas work in the original 22,000 square foot facility, which is also located in Bristol, RI
