2012 Olympic hopefuls Lucy Macgregor and Mary Rook, are both being sponsored by Lynx Sports Management in their preparations to become the chosen candidate in the newly installed womens match racing class.

In the absence of Elliott 6s, the nominated sports boat which are due to be delivered later in the year, the two helms & their crews are training together in Lymington using Lynx’s Laser SB3s.

Lucy says “It is great for us to get this support from Lynx, it’s a fantastic training facility for us in our campaign”

Lucy is ranked No 3 in the ISAF Women’s Match Racing rankings whilst Mary is the current National Women’s Match Racing Champion.

Both helms are also working with Lynx to search for additional funding for their campaigns. “We want to attract sponsors & show them what an Olympic campaign is all about” says Mary, “the best way for us to do that is by hosting sailing days for prospective clients using Lynx’s SB3s. We can offer companies a unique & memorable day out!”

Stuart McKean, Director of Lynx Sports commented, “We are providing much needed help for their training and coupled with the facilities generously provided by Royal Lymington YC, we feel this set up will be a real benefit to the sailors”
