News from this year's ACCBank Cork Week

In addition to the hectic week’s activities on the water during this year’s ACCBank Cork Week at Crosshaven, Ireland, there will now be an International Invitation Series held in the same waters on Saturday July 12th in association with the ISA SailFleet Programme.

Crews entered for ACCBank Cork Week are invited to participate in a series of fleet races in J/80s, where the organisers will provide the bulk of the crew so that only a helm and tactician are required of the visiting competitors. To participate simply email peter@crwly.com and full details of this event will follow in due course. The International Invitation Series promises to be an interesting spectacle as it is hoped that competitors from the 10 nations participating in the ACCBank Cork Week Event will keenly contest this inaugural series.

Preparations are well advanced for what promises to be an exciting week’s sailing and organisers have announced their intention to spread the prizes even further with sub-division of some of the IRC Handicap Classes to ensure that the older traditional Cruiser Racer gets value for money at this year’s Event.

The variety of courses on offer at the Regatta have always been appreciated and this year should be no different with, in particular, the Slalom course placing a premium on boat handling which should provide for some excellent photographic opportunity!

ACCBank Cork Week takes place at the Royal Cork Yacht Club, Crosshaven, Co. Cork from July 12 to 18.
