Following on from his B30, B38 and B60, so Italian yacht designer Luca Brenta has recently launched his latest B38, a glamorous Mediterranean cruiser racer. As with Italian cars, so the B38 is designed to provide an enjoyable, exciting sailing experience on a boat that looks highly attractive with modern, sleek lines and a teak deck.
The B38 has a modest beam, but with 3 tonnes of ballast on a displacement of 5.6 tonnes is stable with enough sail area to provide a good turn of speed. She is designed to be effortless to sail so two electric Harken winches come as standard as does a two spreader carbon mast. Her hull is glass and carbon fibre with a Corecell foam core.
The base boat costs 350,000Euros with extras including sails, electronics, PBO rigging and of course metallic paint. A low draft keel with a trim tab is also available.
