The Russians have the largest fleet in the Aberdeen Dragon European Championship. After three races they also have taken the lead with Emelianov Konstanin of Pirogovo Yacht Club the happy Dragon leader.

Tuesday started with a perfect 16 knot breeze from north in the Oslofjord. During the first race the wind eased off to eight knots, but stayed steady and gave the sailors close to perfect moments. Emelianov Konstantin on RUS 31 finished in third, while fellow countryman Mikhail Senatorov took the gun.

In the second race it was time for Norwegian Terje Wang to show off. He got off to a good start and was in tenth position at the first top mark. Wang and his crew read the coming shift well and sailed passed the competitors on the last leg to finish 20 meters in front of Senatorov in second.

"It was a good race with tricky conditions. We are hoping for seven races so we can forget yesterdays OCS and the 39th place from the second race," commented Wang who is currently in 33rd.

Konstantin finished in 15th place in the last race, just enough to send him to the top of the overall standings for the Aberdeen Dragon European Championship. Senatorov is in third, with Dane Jørgen Schönherr inbetween the two Russians.

64 boats are competing in the Aberdeen Dragon European Championship. Seven races are planned with the last one being sailed on Friday 8 August.
