More than 14 knots in 6 seconds: this incredible acceleration has enabled
L'Hydroptère
crew to beat their own record of 46.5 knots, set only four days ago.
As L’Hydroptère wishes to beat the speed record on a 500m course and the nautical mile challenge as soon as possible, the number of training sessions has increased. Today, with 25 knots real wind and mild sea conditions, the boat once again proved her reliability and speed potential.
This training session was planned to test new different sail configurations and record new data, which enables the team to analyse the boat’s behaviours and adjustments.
In the end, it showed that the boat is performing well and that she behaves perfectly in all types of conditions and configurations tested.
Alain Thébault and his crew are confident. Step by step, they will reach their objective i.e. beat the absolute sailing speed record.
