RC 44 class gets underway

Race schedule and new launched announced for Russell Coutts' 44 footer

Tuesday September 5th 2006, Author: Bernard Schopfer, Location: Italy
Three races will be sailed this autumn by the Russell Coutts designed RC 44 Class, currently comprising five boats - with three more about to be launched!

The RC 44 Class is moving into a new level as its class racing activities begin. This autumn, the five RC 44s are going to take part to a fleet and match-race event in Trieste, alongside the Barcolana Race (4-7 October).

Two RC 44s will then be shipped to Biograd, in Croatia, where they will sail the Biograd Match Race (21-22 October). The whole fleet will then meet in Portoroz, Slovenia, in order to finish the season at the Portoroz RC 44 Regatta (27-29 October).

Three new RC 44s will be launched in September: Vincenzo Onorato’s Mascalzone Latino, Boat 8 for Miro Reljanovic’ Team CRO-A-Sail and Boat 9 for Team Punto Scotta.

These new competitors will join the class for racing in 2007.
