Leading sailing clothing company, Henri Lloyd, is sponsoring Falmouth Week for the second year. Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week 2006 runs from 5-13 August and is set to be another great sailing and social event.

Organised by The Port of Falmouth Sailing Association, the Falmouth regatta has grown from its earliest origins in the 1820s and is now a major event held over 8 days and offers all aspects of racing.

Each day’s racing is hosted by one of the local clubs, beginning on the Saturday 5 August with the Falmouth Classics, with a wide range of traditional craft racing in Carrick Roads.

Helford River Sailing Club runs Sunday’s racing and the Bay Championships, Bay Regatta and Falmouth Dinghy Week start on Monday 7 August, run by the Mylor Yacht Club.

Restronguet Sailing Club, nationally recognised as one of the leading clubs for dinghy racing, hosts Tuesday’s racing. This year a fleet of 100 plus dinghies are expected to take part.

Flushing Sailing Club run Wednesday’s event and, on Thursday, St Mawes Sailing Club's after-sailing social event causes the whole town to be closed off to traffic, with tables, music and dancing in the streets and a giant screen to show the video of the day’s racing.

The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club runs Friday’s racing, followed by supper al fresco and a spectacular firework display over the harbour.

Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week 2006 winds up on Saturday 13th August with the traditional “Champagne Race”, with 72 bottles of bubbly to be won. The Grand Prizegiving for the regatta series takes place at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club.
