The '32nd America's Cup on Tour', a travelling road show for the America's Cup has arrived in Paris at Place de la Bastille. The installation was inaugurated on Wednesday evening and will remain open through this weekend, closing on Sunday 11 June.
The 32nd America's Cup on Tour was conceived with an aim to convey the values that have shaped the America's Cup into a legend. It is an Embassy for the 32nd America's Cup, representing the passion, the effort, the technology and the knowledge of the sea, which makes this sport a singular event.
An interactive and itinerant exhibition, the 32nd America's Cup on Tour is full of activities and displays related to the 32nd America's Cup. With remote control replica Cup boats, a 'Grinder game', photo exhibition, videos, and information cubes, the Tour is like a 'tasting menu' of the America's Cup, giving a sample of what's in store at the Port America's Cup in Valencia over the next year and a half.
The Paris opening featured representatives from the city of Paris, along with the America's Cup organisers and partners. The French America's Cup team, Areva Challenge, was also on hand with syndicate head Stephane Kandler and General Manager Dawn Riley.
This represents the start of a European Tour which will see the 32nd America's Cup on Tour travel to 12 Mediterranean cities in July and August before going on to six more European cities in September and October (see schedule below). Earlier this spring, the installation travelled around the Valencia region - Valencia being the host city of the 32nd America's Cup.
