As Cammas and Groupama 11 take the lead on day one of the ORMA class' Vigo Grand Prix

In Spain the centre of attention has moved from Valencia to Vigo, where today the 60ft ORMA trimaran Grand Prix got underway.

Once again Franck Cammas and his green Groupama 2 trimaran put in two bullets to lead ahead of Pascal Bidegorry and his crew on board Banque Populaire.

The first race was started in a 12 knots breeze from the west but dropped to 8-10, while the second race saw the wind drop further to 3-5 knots.

In these lighter conditions, particularly in less than 8 knots of wind, Groupama 2 seems to excel - faster, more responsive, faster to tack, etc.

Provisional results after two races:
1-Franck Cammas (Groupama-2) 2 points
2-Pascal Bidegorry (Banque Populaire) 5 points
3-Michel Desjoyeaux (Geant) 7
4-Frederic points Peutrec (Gitana 11) 8 points
ëx-Armel Cléac'h (Foncia) 10 points
ëx-Thierry Duprey of Vorsent (Gitana X) 10 points
