Southworth wins J24 Europeans

Sunday July 10th 2005, Author: Media/TheDailySail, Location: United Kingdom
Ian Southworth was able to post a third place in the last race of the J24 European Championship to take the regatta with a convincing 14 point margin from Brazilian Mauricio Santacruz.

Conditions on Friday for Race 11 were a little light to start with made all the more tricky with some large windshifts – several attempts to get the fleet away resulted in the black flag being used.

Racing took place on the Bay of Quiberon and the event was hosted by the Yacht Club Crouesty Arzon
