Familiar sponsor for Half Ton Classics Cup

Rejuvenated regatta to take place in Dinard

On Monday 11 July Gérard Fougeray, flamboyant President of the Dinard YC and Bert Janssen, representative of the Half Ton Class Europe, reached an agreement with Michael Bremans, Managing Director of Ecover under which the Belgian manufacturer of ecological cleaning products will be the main sponsor of the Half Ton Classics Cup 2005 in Dinard.

In doing so Ecover continues their involvement in the activities of the Half Ton Class: pleased with the results of the 2003 editionheld in Nieuwpoort (BEL) where they already assured main sponsorship, Bremans declared that he was looking forward to the 2nd edition in the very British waters surrounding Dinard. The site indeed has all the capabilities to ensure the success of the second edition of the Half Ton Classics Cup.

With up to 33 boats already signed up for the event, a very experienced organising committee and now the renewed support of the main sponsor, the Half Ton Class Europe can now firmly declare that the future of the ‘old halftonners’ is looking very bright indeed. Only ‘half a ton’, certainly, but ‘twice the fun’!

This year's Half Ton Classics Cup takes place from 28 August to 3 September.
