The last 6 Metre design from Sparkman &Stephens arrived this week from the United States. She joins the growing fleet racing in the Solent this season.
Tempest was built in 1986 by Goetz for the then US Championships. She was subsequently cruised from Martha’s Vineyard and kept in pristine condition. Avia Willment, her new owner is delighted with her condition and intends to have her out on trials very shortly. She will be based at Universal Marina in the Hamble and will join the British Six Metres at their Spring Regatta in Lymington 20-22 May.
Tim Street, the BISMA President said that finding competitive examples of this great class is becoming more difficult and congratulates Avia on her purchase.
