Breitling back Med TP52s

On 11 February Swiss watch manufacturer Breitling signed an agreement with MedCup Management to sponsor the forthcoming Transac 52 circuit in the Mediterranean.
Javier Pomar, President of Cronomar, Breitling’s distributor in Spain and Andorra, recalled the union they have held with sailing in Spain such as the annual Breitling regatta in Puerto Portals, Mallorca, attended by the top boats on the international IMS circuit. They are also the principle sponsor of the Spanish IMS Championship.
Also at the announcement were Javier Pomar, José Félix García, Ignacio Triay and Nacho Postigo representatives of Medcup Management, the company in charge of managing and organising the Mediterranean TP52 circuit.
In addition Arturo Delgado, President of the Mediterranean Transat 52 fleet Association, signed an agreement with Medcup Management ceding the exploitation rights of the circuit to Medcup Management.
The first Breitling Medcup TP52 date will take place in Punta Ala, Italy, on 28 May-4 June. Following this the fleet will move onto Valencia where the second race will take place on 29 June until 3 July. They will then compete again in July in Puerto Portals, Mallorca, and on 29 July until 7 August, the fourth regatta will run in Palma, Mallorca. The season will conclude in Porto Rotondo, Sardinia, Italy.
