Do you want to learn more about how to get more one-design sailors to the starting line? US Sailing has organized the first-ever One-Design Symposium for sailors and one-design classes who would like to learn more about one-design sailing. The event will take place November 12-14 in Newport, RI. The two-day event offers unique opportunities to meet leaders in the field of one-design sailing and hear their expert
advice on how to grow one-design sailing in the U.S.
Topics that will be discussed at the One-Design Symposium include fleet building, involving youth sailors, sponsorship, class organization, measurement techniques, creating a class newsletter, building a website, and much more. Speakers at the event include racing rules expert Dave Perry, Olympian Carol Cronin, Sailing World Editor John Burnham, one-design expert Greg Fisher, US Sailing Team Coach Skip Whyte, five-time Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year Betsy Alison, and many more.
