From 30 July-1 August, 2004, 14 teams representing US and Irish companies and clubs will be battling it out over two days of fast back-to-back match racing in the first US-Ireland Alliance Match Racing Cup. The competition will be held in the stunning Cork Harbour, at the world's oldest yacht club, the Royal Cork.

Racing will take place on one of the most exciting one-design yachts to hit the racing scene in Europe for years. Named after the year the Royal Cork was founded, the 1720 class is an Irish-designed and built boat designed for high performance racing. With a crew of five and huge sail area that includes an asymmetric spinnaker, the 1720 is regularly clocked at over 15 knots and makes for exciting racing that demands great teamwork.

Only 14 teams will be entered for this competition, so secure your spot now! Team registration fee is 3500Euros. If you have an interest in entering a team on behalf of your company or personally participating in this event, please contact race organiser Felimy Greene by email here.

If you would like more information on accommodation and travel to Ireland for the regatta, as well as more information on the US-Ireland Alliance, please contact Kathleen Long by email here or on 001-202-986-5969.
