Summer Series underway

Simon Forbes reports on race one of the Royal Southampton YC's Series

The Royal Southampton Yacht Club’s Summer Sunday series race 1 was held on Sunday 16th May which saw a light breeze which rarely climb above 5 knots.

The Race Management Team set the Committee Boat, near Hovercraft 1 buoy.

Class 3, saw Charles Ivill’s J/120 Charley J take line honours and victory on corrected time by over five minutes from the First 211 Loki (Simon Potter/Marion Meunier). In third place was Robert Clark sailing the Evolution 22 Glass Onion.

In the Multihull Class, Roderick Walker’s Farrier F27 Tinkerbell took line honours and victory on corrected time by 20 seconds from Simon Forbes’ Dragonfly 800 Scooby III with Ben Goodland’s Strider Tigger third.
