IMS 600 Worlds

To take place on the Adriatic island of Cres later this month

VIP IMS 600 World Championship, the largest sailing competition this year in Croatia, has just been launched. The Championship will be held from 11-18 September off the Adriatic island of Cres. Competitors will feature 30 top teams from all over the world including the participants from the Olympic games and America's Cup.

The organisers of this competition are long-term partners, when it comes to high-end sailing regattas: the Sailing Club of Rijeka - SCOR and VIPnet. The patron of this regatta is Stjepan Mesi, the President of the Republic of Croatia.

"IMS, unlike other measurement systems, manages to put more accent on the skipper and crew skills, as opposed just equalisation of the boat's dimensions. Sailing club of Rijeka has been eager to follow the sailing trends by organising IMS championships on the high level." said Neven Baran, America's Cup judge and the president of Sailing club of Rijeka.

This championship will be enriched by various additional activities and events like opening ceremony in the Cres harbor, music concerts, fashion show, ethno-gastro night, Sailors and VIP party and the prize award ceremony.
