Rolex Commodores' Cup weather
Sunday July 25th 2004, Author: James Boyd, Location: United Kingdom
The Rolex Commodore's Cup is not lining up to be the breeziest of regattas with the wind mainly light - with 10-15 knots forecast for Monday, dropping off to virtually nothing on Wednesday and picking up again in time for Friday's Channel Race. The sea breeze for the first two days of the week will be affected by a weak, dying front that will remain relatively stationary over the UK. The Bracknell chart show this as having dissipated by Wednesday. Friday's weather is looking to be more lively thanks to a depression over Iceland although this may be pushed north by a high pressure system to the south west of the Bay of Biscay and a low over the Spanish mainland.
