IMS in the Adriatic

Yacht Sport Cup 2004 launched

In order to promote and develop sailing under the IMS rating rule and establishing co-operation among clubs, sailors and boat owners, the Austrian Offshore Racing Association, Yacht Club Punat, Sailing Club of Rijeka, Sailing Club Opatija and Austrian Academic Sailing Club have launched Yacht Sport Cup - series of the five most important IMS events on the Adriatic Sea. Following events will be scored for Yacht Sport Cup in 2004:

21 - 23 May IMS Austrian Championship, Izola (SLO)
27 - 30 May Croatia Cup, Punat (CRO)
19 - 26 June VIP IMS Mediterranean Championship, Cres (CRO)
02 - 04 July Galijola Sailing Week, Opatija (CRO)
03 - 05 Sept Alpe Adria IMS Cup, Rovinj (CRO)

Overall sponsor of this initiative is company Yacht Sport based in Rijeka. Yacht Sport is importing sailing gear from well known UK manufacturer - Gill. Yacht Sport will provide sailing gear as prizes, total value of EUR 4.500 for the best three crews. Participants may as well benefit of special discounts on Gill products provided by Yacht Sport.
