Tuesday July 22nd 2003, Author: Simon Russell, Location: United Kingdom
With entries topping 30 boats and some of the top XOD sailors in attendance this weekend. The Collars sponsored Central Solent Championships held at the Royal Southern Y C has all the ingredients for some top racing. 8 races are scheduled with a combination of short windward leeward and round the cans, This event is an ideal tune up regatta for Cowes Week and should be an indicator to who is on the pace and in the running for the Captain's cup the following week!

Last years Central Solent and Captain's cup Winner "Lass" will have their work cut out by the likes of Peter Baines sailing X2 "Palassie" in her first outing since a major refit, Willy McNeil, Steve Laurence, Colin Mckinnon just to name a few who are all capable of victory.

This years event is sponsored by Collars the specialist wooden spar builder who have a long relationship with the XOD fleet. They have kindly donated a mast and boom to the top scoring division.

Entries can still be made by contacting Katie Ashworth at the Royal Southern Y.C.
