Following the demise of leading East Coast race boat builder Carroll Marine, the moulds for the Mumm 30 and Farr 40 One Design boats have found a new home at USWatercraft, LLC. Construction contracts for two new Farr 40s have been signed, and there are several interested customers for the Mumm 30.

President and CEO Randy Borges founded USWatercraft LLC in 1999 and began construction of the International J/22 and J/24 One Design Classes. Borges states: "With our knowledge of both the Farr 40 and Mumm 30, and our commitment to providing quality products within strict class guidelines, both Farr international and their customers will be insured of the same level of quality and performance that they demand."

Geoff Stagg, President of Farr International stated that, "US Watercraft is the logical choice to continue building these boats. The company has a good reputation for quality work, they have the technical expertise and have acquired key personnel from Carroll Marine so the transition will be seamless".

Jim Andersen formerly of CML. has been involved in all aspects of both classes since their inception. Jim is now the COO of USWatercraft. Jeffrey "Skip" Mattos is another CML transfer, and will handle parts sales, customer service and assist Jim with sales and marketing.

Negotiations are also underway with other boatbuilders for placing the Farr 36, Farr 395 and CM 60 moulds, and are expected to be completed soon.
