Raymarine, the Portsmouth based marine electronics company, is sponsoring the X332 National Championships of Great Britain and Ireland. The event is hosted by the Royal Southern Yacht Club in the Hamble, and takes place from 21-24 August. The Raymarine race day will be held on Thursday 21 August, when the competitors will be racing to win the silver Raymarine Cup, as well as a number of additional Raymarine prizes.
This is the third year that Raymarine has sponsored the event, showing its on-going commitment to the class. Many of the X332 yachts are supplied with, or choose to fit, Raymarine electronics. The extensive choice of easy to install, quick to use instruments, provides fast and accurate information whether cruising or racing.
The X-332 is a technical sailing class with performance yachts and committed sailors. This is the 5th National Championship Regatta with entries from all over Europe. The Championship is expected to be an exciting event with yachts racing in and around the Solent.
Nigel Richardson, X-332 Class Chairman commented, “the fast-going, fast-growing X-332 has proved to be one of the most versatile yachts of its size. Previously winning its class with the Royal Ocean Racing Club (Courrier Nord) and regularly winning IRC regattas, the X-332 is now firmly established and enjoys very competitive racing in most major events. With many of the leading boats using Raymarine’s marine electronics, including my own 2001 National Champion boat Blue Max, Raymarine’s consistent commitment and performance is second to none. We welcome Raymarine onboard for 2003.
