Immediately following on from the Swedish Match Cup is this week's Trofeo Challenge Roberto Trombini match racin gin Italy

Twelve of the most succesful skippers and match racing champions will sail the IX edition of Trofeo Challenge Roberto Trombini, from 9-13 July 2003 in Marina di Ravenna sea city on the Adriatic coast.

The Trofeo Trombini, organised by Progetto Vela and his Chairman Andrea Trombini, in memory of his brother Roberto, a famous Italian sailor, with the cooperation of Circolo Velico Ravennate e International Marinara Yacht Club, will begin with some practice races, a skipper briefing and the official inauguration in a special dinner with fireworks and many special guests, such as Italian gold medallist in the Mistral class, Alessandra Sensini.

From Thursday 10 July the flights will start for the Round Robin, followed by the Quarter finals. Semifinals and finals will be sailed on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July. The boat used for the match race is the TOM 28 designed specifically for match racing by Giovanni Ceccarelli.
