Cork Week sets sail

News from Ireland's leading regatta which kicks off tomorrow

In other news, Just Magic (Val 35) suffered mast damage just before Ford Cork Week for the second time in a row. Fortunately, Nick Sawyer, the Commodore from the crews local yacht club, Cardiff Bay Yacht Club, has stepped in to save the day.

The crew will now sail aboard Communicator, affectionately known as Just Tragic for the week. The crew from Communicator will be sailing aboard an old one tonner called Saracen. The boat was lying in a state of disrepair for some years at Swansea Marina and was recently restored,

The two crews are competitive rivals for most of the year, but for one month they race as a team in the Shanghai Cup. Team spirit has definitely won the day here and all concerned now look forward again to a fantastic Ford Cork Week 2002.
