We look at the high performance Pro25 sportsboat from Judel/Vrolijk

Just when you thought the bubble had burst in the sportsboat market, so Dutch company Promarine have introduced what looks like being one of the hottest boats around.

The company say that their Judel/Vrolijk designed Pro25 is "designed for only one purpose: one design sailing at high speeds".

The boat has an epoxy hull and deck, while the mast, boom, keel foil and rudder are all in carbon fibre.

Some features of this boat are: Epoxy hull and deck, Carbon mast and boom, carbon keel and rudder. Downwind sail area is impressively large at 111sqm using a symetrical masthead spinnaker like a Mumm30. The boat has no coachroof, with the mast stepped on the cockpit floor. The boat comes complete with full Harken Carbo deck gear.

The first boat is now sailing and the company have sold six just from the plans alone. They are also looking for a British distributor.
