Farr 40 Worlds

One design, one champion, one watch. That’s what the 2002 Rolex Farr 40
World Championship promises when it comes to the spectacular Atlantis Resort, on Paradise Island in the Bahamas on November 13-16.
25 highly pedigreed racing sailboats, 40 feet long and identical in design to each other, will sport nine-man teams of the world’s very best sailors.
The prize after four days and ten races is the world championship crown, the World Cup and a coveted Rolex timepiece.
The fleet includes the top players from the US circuit, such as Jim Richardson's Barking Mad and John Coumantaros' Bambakou with entries from Japan and Australia. Notably there are few from Europe - only Nerone and Norwegian Steam are currently entered along with British boats Katanga and Assegai.
