Action-packed morning on the Gulf

More crew changes were seen today:. Today, a big name in America’s Cup sailing returned to the Cup – Dennis Conner was helming Stars & Stripes. Perhaps it is a good way of warming up for the forthcoming Etchells World Championships that are happening in Auckland just after this Round Robin! Maybe this is why the Team Dennis Conner weather ribs have been straying away from the Louis Vuitton courses and recording data elsewhere recently too!
In match two on Juliet course Team Dennis Conner were racing Mascalzone Latino, who also had a crew change, with starting helmsman Paolo Cian returning from his “day off” yesterday. In his first race of the day, Dennis Conner achieved an almost perfect committee boat start, whilst Mascalzone started further down the line. Stars and Stripes then went on to draw on their advantage throughout the race and gradually extended their lead over Mascalzone Latino to win by 1min 09s, and a big smile on Dennis’ face! It looked like he had had fun.
