What's your date of birth?
8th May 1980.

Which sailing club do you belong to?
Hayling Island, Olton Mere, Bartley Sailing Clubs.

Where did you first meet?
Warwick University.

Where and when did you first sail together?
A couple of days after meeting each other at University!

When did you decide to sail together as a team?
The beginning of last year.

What's your best regatta result sailing together?
Fourth in the 49er Eurocup and qualifying tenth for the Gold fleet at Helsinki Grand Prix (49er).

Any other notable regatta wins together?
Chichester Harbour Federation week - and various open meetings.

Who owns the boat you are currently sailing together?
Me.

What do you do together off the water?
Drinking.

What other interests or hobbies do you and your teammate share apart from sailing?
Drinking.

What's your next sailing ambition together?
Get Lottery Funding and doing well in the 49er Worlds.

What's your strongest attribute as a team?
Pretty determined.

What's your teammate's greatest fear when out on the water?
He's always making out how hard he is - so fear is not an option!!!???

What's the greatest strength in your teammate's sailing?
Errr, he's pretty strong and strives to do things better.

What's the greatest weakness in your teammate's sailing?
Needs to get his head out of the boat a bit more and help me.

What aspect of your teammate's character do you like the most?
He's pretty cool in the boat - and sorts me out if I'm losing it, other than that we have a good laugh.

What aspect of your teammate's character do you dislike the most?
That's a difficult question.

What do you most envy about your teammate?
That's a really difficult question too!!!

What's the one thing most likely to get your teammate angry on the water?
Me messing up and blaming him - but I never do that!!!

What's the biggest mistake your teammate's made when you've been sailing together?
Generally breaking things.

When you're at a regatta, who's first in the shower when you get back to your accommodation after sailing?
Our accommodation is a van without a shower so we tend to shower at sailing clubs - and who wants to rush for a cold sailing club shower!

Who cooks when you're staying in self-catering accommodation at a regatta?
We tend to share it unless we can talk somebody else into it - like Adam's girlfriend.

Who buys the first round in the pub - you or your teammate (or another crew altogether?).
I can't usually remember what happened in the pub!!!

Who does most of the work preparing the boat for sailing?
Me, cos I'm at University and have nothing better to do - he just breaks it!

What's the one thing that your teammate would least want you to tell us about them?! He is amazing at chess - 'cos he played a lot at school!!!

Any notable incidents to tell us about at a regatta?
Adam trying to swim his way out of the nightclub in Torbole and failing.

What’s your date of birth?
9th April 1977.

Which sailing club do you belong to?
None at the moment, although I used to be a member of Draycote Water SC.

Where did you first meet?
At Warwick University when Piers came along to join the sailing club.

Where and when did you first sail together?
At University we decided to sail together whilst team racing, so the first time would have been in a Laser 2 at Draycote Water around October 1998.

When did you decide to sail together as a team?
Piers bought the 49er on New Years Eve 1999 and we have sailed together since then.

What’s your best regatta result sailing together?
Probably the Finland 49er Eurocup, just before the Olympics, when we qualified ahead of about seven of the Olympic teams going into the Gold series.

Any other notable regatta wins together?
A few 49er UK circuit events and Chichester Fed Week.

What do you do together off the water?
Socialise.

What other interests or hobbies do you and your teammate share apart from sailing?
Drinking and Socialising!

What’s your next sailing ambition together?
Mainly doing well in the Worlds.

What’s your strongest attribute as a team?
Get on well and keen to win.

What’s your teammate’s greatest fear when out on the water?
Meeting Andy Palmer-Felgate in another 49er.

What’s the greatest strength in your teammate’s sailing?
Light wind tactics and determination to win.

What’s the greatest weakness in your teammate’s sailing?
Can get a little too excited when the pressure's on and starts swearing at anything and everything.

What aspect of your teammate’s character do you like the most?
He's a friendly person and a good laugh.

What aspect of your teammate’s character do you dislike the most?
Errm, don’t know.

What do you most envy about your teammate?
He doesn’t have to pull the kite up with a hangover.

What’s the one thing most likely to get your teammate angry on the water?
Losing out due to stupidity and/or poor boat maintenance.

What’s the biggest mistake your teammate’s made when you’ve been sailing together?
Falling out the back when approaching the leeward mark with the kite up.

When you’re at a regatta, who’s first in the shower when you get back to your accommodation after sailing?
Always shower in the sailing club, so there’s no fight there.

Who cooks when you’re staying in self-catering accommodation at a regatta?
Take it in turns, it normally only involves boiling up a whole bag of pasta or opening a tin!

Who buys the first round in the pub you or your teammate (or another crew altogether?).
Try and get another crew to buy them and then pretend I bought them.

Who does most of the work preparing the boat for sailing?
Piers, he’s pretty handy with boat maintenance after working for various boat builders and breaking lots of carbon tillers.

What’s the one thing that your teammate would least want you to tell us about them?!
His reputation as being a bit of a tart and the accomplishments that has gained him with the university totty.

Any notable incidents to tell us about at a regatta?
Most notable incidents happen away from the regatta, but the most notable event has to be the Eastbourne event, lots of wind and big waves and complete carnage but we were the only boat to finish every race through pure determination.
