New officers

Team to be headed by Bermuda's Jordy Walker to run the Match Race Association

At the Match Race Association’s (MRA) Annual General Meeting held this past weekend at the Swedish Match Tour’s Match Race Germany, the organisation elected officers for the coming year.

Elected for the year 2003/4 were:

President B. W. Jordy Walker – Bermuda Gold Cup
Vice President Morten Lorenzen – Danish Open 2003
Treasurer Brian Billings – Bermuda Gold Cup
Secretary Bill Uniack – Congressional Cup
Directors Eberhard Magg – Match Race Germany
Peter Klock – Swedish Match Cup
Russell Green – Steinlager Line 7 Cup
Damir Milos – ACI HTmobile Cup
Ted Weisberg – Knickerbocker Cup

A motion was passed to increase the number of Directors from four to five for the coming year. Additionally, Ted Weisberg, out-going President of the MRA, will serve as the organisation’s representative to the Swedish Match Tour.

As in the past, the meeting also provided members the opportunity to share with each other marketing, technical and financial information about their respective events. It is from such exchanges of information that the events are able to grow and reach the common goal of creating among MRA members the world’s very best match racing events.

The MRA’s next annual general meetings will be held in 2004 at a TBD location.
