Racing or Cruising?

Are Amer Sports Too taking it easy and staying safe asks Peter Bentley.

Not only is the mainsheet unattended, it looks set to come out of the self-tailer.

Even so, pictures coming in from the boat seem to show that it simply isn't being driven that hard. Without exception, every picture from every other boat shows the crew driving hard, sheets in hand, winch handles spinning. Pictures from Amer Sports Too in contrast rarely show much activity from anyone but the helmsman. What is going on?

Perhaps more bizarrely, it seems that navigator, Genevieve White and skipper, Lisa McDonald have taken charge of the cooking. "Gen and Lisa McDonald are doing such a great job in providing us with the tastiest hot meals," wrote Klaartje Zuiderbaan in an e-mail on the 24th November. Perhaps this accounts for the fact that Amer Sports Too has largely followed the fleet ahead. What have they been doing to use the tactical opportunities available to the boat behind?
